Neither obsessed with the presidency but went on to build homes for others and created the Carter Center that has had an enormous impact around the world. Few people have been as generous with their time and their love of humanity as the Carters.

Our world is several shades darker (and sadder) with Rosalyn's departure. Heartfelt sympathy to the Carter family, and overwhelming gratitude that I had the good fortune to be here for so much of Jimmy and Rosalyn's time on this planet.

because of all he did after leaving office....
