(19,794 posts)I'm a white guy and I encounter white women who are that stupid and non caring literally every day. For real.

(2,834 posts)It's actually quite serious.
The deliver is comical, if not to every viewers liking, but the fact remains that many still love Trump and repeat their MAGA talking points. Not just whites, not just women, of course.

It's useful to look at data for deeper insights. These are fascinating, but have to be understood in the prevailing zeitgeist of 2016 -- interference by Russian and other sources of misinformation, James Comey, the chaos style of campaigning by DJT, and --lets face it-- a prevailing lack of confidence in females in leadership positions seen as needing toughness, the ability to act promptly and wisely in emergencies, as would be required of a commander-in-chief. If only more women of all ethnic backgrounds had voted for Hilary C., especially white women, maybe we could have won enough states to win the electoral college votes.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda, all water under the bridge, long past. There's a saying that a "man(!) never steps in the same river twice," which in our present case means that the population of the electorate has changed in 8 years, due to so many factors.
That's the long way around to saying that I think the OP's posted video is humorous and actually on point for a subset of our voting public, some of whom have been barely paying attention to "politics" and the larger implications. Such a DJT presidency, should he 'win' may last no longer than it would take for his new cabinet to apply the 25th amendment and install that wretched, hateful, lying tool of Thiel and the billionaires. (JDV).

(54 posts)Maybe something like getting a little pinch on the shoulder while someone is telling a joke or a story. The small pain quickly fades, but the lesson remains, if we decide to pay attention and remember it.

BTW, I'm a white woman, and I thought it was adorable.

(2,517 posts)Have you ever watched fox news or oan or newsmax?
They all have women anchors whose job it is to parrot lines created by white men to get white men and women to hate Kamala Harris. As a result there are many white women who say hateful and untrue things about her as we see in the video.
MANY white women have in recent history insisted they are for women's rights, civil rights, justice, and fairness, but have voted for sexists, racists, and flat out white nationalists.
Of course this is NOT true of all white women, but this video reflects just how I've felt for years.

(4,972 posts)And if this were about white men I'd still think so, and the complainers would then find it hysterical.

(8,231 posts)I spend too much time listening to NPR. They regularly interview voters across the country, and both the men and women sound deeply ignorant of what goes on in this country, or their state, or probably their city, town, or village. They really don't appear to know what they're talking about, but they have what they think are sound opinions on politics. It started with television: people assumed what they saw on TV was true. These days, they assume if it's in print on the web, it's true. They are mistaken.
Furthermore, this TikTok script (?) is behind the times as to what a Vice President's duties are. It was Bill Clinton who gazed at his VP, Al Gore, and immediately assigned him various duties. Al Gore closed the field office of the Agriculture department that was located in downtown DC. And other duties. VP Harris has been all over the world, meeting foreign heads of state, has been to South and Central American countries, telling them not to come to the US, and doubtless performed other useful and skill-building activities. Joe Biden has used her talents, and expanded her experience, and he did that deliberately, hoping to pass the presidency on to her. He's passing it a little ahead of the schedule he would have preferred, but he seems to have done all he could to prepare her.
Well done, Joe, and Kamala!
