Same old Obama: Lew is a douchebag. Will we push back this time? Pfft...Jack Lew, the President's nominee for Secretary of the Treasury, supported the creation of NAFTA and the deregulation of banks, and has supported similar strategies ever since, without apology or admission of error. http://rootsaction.org/

1. For those of you who didn't see this on UP w/ Chris Hayes
3 segments, 2 30-second commercial breaks. MUST SEE for all who don't choose to stick their head in the sand and those who do.
@ 8:45 of segment 3 discusses the 2 TARP votes. That, and Obama's decision to bring in Clinton's financial advisers (the Rubinites), mark the moment Obama jumped the shark IMO. Yep, before he was even inaugurated. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46979738/ns/msnbc-up_with_chris_hayes/#50441104 4 More Years!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I can't wait to see how Elizabeth Warren votes on Lew!!! ![]() ![]() |

2. Well, as long as people are venting their spleen by "signing" a web petition....
....I don't think the President will lose much sleep.

3. Hopefully, Elizabeth Warren will reply to my email...
The petition doesn't go to Obama, it goes to your Senator. Regardless of where your head is, Obama was and is on the wrong side of history on this one.
If I hear from Warren, I'll post it here. |

5. Don't be upset if you get a "programmed" response to your "programmed" petition message...
If you couldn't be bothered to write something original, why should she?

11. Not complaining about the issue...
...only the general unwillingness of people to come up with their own thoughts about critical issues. In a related thread on filibuster reform, I pointed out that I've taken then time to speak to over 20 Senators about my opinion (yes, my finances afford me that privilege, but I'd be prepared to write if a personal meeting wasn't possible).
FWIW - If Warren hasn't already said she's voting "no", I wouldn't expect your web petition to generate a specific response. |

4. Lew is terrible, a soulless hack, everything that is wrong with DC -- and
Obama seems to love him.
Surprise! Whatever happened to Paul Krugman for Treasury anyway??? |

6. Paul Krugman has stated several times
That he does not want to be Sec of Treasury. He feels he has more influence on the outside.

10. Robert Reich likes him.
Say what you will about Reich, but the guy has some credibility, doesn't he?

13. I'd like to read why. Do you have a source?
I wonder if Reich supports Geithner, too. I'd love to read the reasons he does because have to believe that he wouldn't condone anything that has been cited in this thread.

14. And he wants to take your guns...
People who blindly support Obama sound a lot like people who blindly support gun rights.
