Here is her wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riane_Eisler
I've followed her for decades, since reading her first book The Chalice and The Blade, and more recently The Real Wealth of Nations.
I joined her Caring Economy Campaign and have been following, and am now taking a leadership course designed to facilitate discussion about a new economy, a more caring economy.
ABOUT:We invite you to join the Caring Economy Campaign to lay the foundations for a more just, sustainable, and caring economy and world. Caring Counts: For People, Prosperity, and the Planet
The real wealth of our nation, and our world, is not financial: Our real wealth consists of the contributions of people and nature. Nations that support the work of caregiving by offering caregiver tax-credits, publicly funded child and elder care, and paid parental leave consistently rank high in both UN Human Development Reports and World Economic Forums Global Competitiveness Reports. When the importance of caregiving is recognized and supported, citizens are happier and healthier, and society is more economically secure. Success in the world and a good quality of life for our nations citizens require economic practices, policies, and measurements that give visibility and value to the most essential human work - the work of caring for people, starting in early childhood. The Caring Economy Campaign will make our nation, and our world, better.
I am looking for 10 people who would like to join me in an online conversation next week, with me presenting materials for your consideration and for us to discuss this topic. Those who are set up to have a video chat, preferably. A date and time can be decided once I know who all is interested.
Please message me if you have an interest or questions.

(23,998 posts)I also have The Real Wealth of Nations but have only scanned it. To the extent that I understand the premise of the book, I agree with it.
I have a web cam and can probably get it set up for a conversation, if you get enough interest. Weekends work for me. Anything set up during the regular work week would be problematic. I work non-standard hours.

(22,917 posts)Weekends are absolutely fine with me. I can do more than one time; in fact, I'd like to do this once a month, but this would be my first time, for my practicufollow up. So I'm inviting those who are, for the most part, on the same page as far as general worldview so we can have a more fruitful conversation.
Thanks!
I'll add you to the potential-interest list and be in touch!
(BTW, the platform to be used for this online gathering is up in the air; there are so many varying opinions and experiences with different tools, so I'm exploring that simultaneously. It may depend on those who want to gather; I can use different tools based on participants' preferences. I'd love to try Google Hangouts, but that does limit it to those with video conference capabilities.)

I might be able to do it OGR. I'd have to check to see if my webcam is working on the desktop. I haven't used it in a while but if it is, I'd be interested...

(22,917 posts)Even if not for this first one, for my practicum, perhaps a later one? I plan on holding these online conversations on a regular basis, and will use different tools depending upon the participants, including using tools which don't require video and can simply call in via the phone instead.
