Accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was found hiding in a boat days after the blasts, left a handwritten message describing the attack as retribution for U.S. wars in Muslim countries, CBS News reported on Thursday.
The CBS News report, citing anonymous sources, said that Tsarnaev used a pen to write the message on an interior wall of the boat, where police found him bleeding from gunshot wounds four days after the April 15 bombing.
The note summed up with the idea that "when you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims," CBS News reported.
CBS News did not make clear how its sources knew the information and Reuters was not immediately able to confirm the report.

(46,572 posts)I saw an old friend the other day and though she knew we were polar opposites politically, she insisted that she saw the video and snapshots and tried to claim that Dzhokhar was not involved. She kept ranting about a white backpack. She believed the two boys were set up and the guvmint created the issue to attempt to take our rights. "Did you see them breaking into those houses?"
I calmly told her that the boys did it. There was an eye witness and she should change her news source. I also told her that the Boston residents remained in their homes voluntarily, and of course they were going into the houses in Watertown because they had cornered him there and had to find him because of the bomb threat.
And she said, well did you see the picture of the boy in the boat? He didn't have any bombs.
You just can't please them. Their fears are all based on the concern that the guvmint is going to create a scenario that will eventually result in their lost rights.
