Impeachment is an attempt to poison the well for the Democrat in 2016 Agnosticsherbet May 2013 #2
I don't think the repukes can take the Senate. It would be an almost impossible failure for Dems. Poll_Blind May 2013 #3

Only dumbest 95% of Republicans think they can convict him in the Senate.

I just don't see it being possible they could sweep the Senate, even with so many Democrats retiring. And with the buffer of 2 independents.

I think the GOP is going to piss off people with their steadfast unwillingness to do anything. If they keep pushing the idiotic scandalmania we may have another 1998 midterm.

There is no question in my mind that this most patient and far-seeing President has been actively tending the ground for the 2014 mid-term elections since long before his own reelection. He's been steadily aiming for a two-year window in which he can have a supermajority in the Senate and control of the House.

It is not a wise choice to underestimate the President in his ability to get what he wants--he is very, very good at it, as the immediate economic surge in the wake of tax increases on the rich clearly shows. So I think there is a chance we can flip the House this time. I'll bet on the Big O.
