Green Bay Police and the leader of St. Vincent de Paul are shaking their heads in disbelief after seeing video capturing people they say are stealing from the poor.
Click here for surveillance video from St. Vincent de Paul in Green Bay, a Christian charity whose mission is to help those in need.
It shows a woman, man, and two children in a large SUV pull up to the donation drop-off area at night.
They're not leaving donations. Green Bay police say they're taking them.
Assholes.

(15,189 posts)And all the cars are somewhat new, and gas hogs. Garage sale or crigslist is where they will probably find these items. And how embarrassing for those kids. Can you imagine being in that video, and kids at school know who you are, and you're only doing what your mother told you, or else, possibly.

(27,630 posts)Stuff someone didn't want anymore was left outside the donation drop off.
Nobody actually owns that stuff at that point.
The person who donated the stuff didn't just take it to the dump or throw it away, which is great. Presumably the people who scavenged through it hoped to find something they needed and save a little money by not having to shop for the stuff. It's still earth-friendly.

(27,630 posts)but whenever I have clothing and shoes to donate, I choose to put the bag just outside of the box. If someone comes by and needs some clothes or shoes and really can't afford thriftstore prices, they can help themselves.

(14,549 posts)and the PTB would let their friends go through the donated toys (brand new) to do their Christmas shopping and then distribute whatever was left.
(Among the donated items were 2 cases of the book "Christmas with Kathy Lee!" which was not a big seller right after the whole slave labor story broke. Apparently the real Christmas with Kathy Lee Gifford went something like this: "Merry Christmas children...now get BACK to your sewing machines!"
