You can tell its good news because its obviously good news, but also because the brigade of conservative writers who comb the news for every last Obamacare glitch in less cooperative states have been pretty quiet about it.

an employer with 100 employees writes 4 checks a week to 4 firms.
this battle is far from over.

(51,907 posts)And not a single dime of that will be spent on actual health care. When the federal subsidies end, the exchanges will have to be self-supporting, which will require a large surcharge on all insurance plans.

(18,571 posts)I did a rough calculation to see what my daughter might pay.
I used an income of $30,000 for the calculation but her income's unstable so I don't know if that's accurate.
Here's what I came up with so far.
It will be around $230 a month.
That includes one free checkup a year, and a $45-$65 copay for other visits depending on what it's for.
There's also a $2000 deductible for Hospital or Emergency care and $250 copay afterwards.
The maximum out of pocket is $6400 for the worst case.
So it's not cheap but at least there isn't some huge deductible for basic services before insurance kicks in and the maximum isn't too bad, especially if you need a heart transplant or something.
