Miz t. is a true friend. Even to a repug.
A friend of ours who lives just down the street is a repug.
She's a nice lady, in her 70s, not particularly bright, a bit ditzy, but sweet.
And she KNOWS that we are Democrats.
Last week she called Miz t.
"I can't find my car keys and I have to go to a Republican Women's meeting. My husband is at a doctor's appointment. Could you possibly give me a ride into town? He can probably bring me back."
(Town is about 10 miles from us.)
"Well, sure. I can give you a ride. I'll be right down."
When Miz t. arrived the lady met her in the driveway.
"I found the keys! I left them in the front door last night. But thank you so much."
(I said she was ditzy.)
"Well, I'm glad you found your keys, but do you realize that you asked a Democrat to take you to a Republican meeting?"
"I didn't even think about that."
"That shows you we're friends first, in spite of politics."
When repugs are in trouble they don't hesitate to call on a Dem to bail them out.
