Obama has outwitted his doubters around here...I had my doubts as well..

Last edited Thu Oct 17, 2013, 03:19 AM - Edit history (1)

but I think the most difficult entity Obama had to contend with was The MIC...
No one absolutely no one could fundamentally change the Military Industrial Complex just by Becoming Pres.

I’m sure we will be seeing some changes over the next 3 years to this entity as well..

Why? because I am proud of our President? .....that he was up against something which has been severely hurting this country for decades..? Many here have been hounding Obama for over two years because of drone attacks, indefinite detention etc.. I’m just saying.. Look at the hell at what he was up against... He has dealt this entity in a smart intelligent manner...I don’t think he could have done it any other way...

he caved on the Bush tax cut extension and in 2011- to mention 2.

Furthermore, his 2014 budget contains the chained cpi and he's a big proponent of the TPP.

I support him when I believe he's doing the right thing for the country and I support him against tea party style attacks.

Even though I hated this extension. I knew he was doing it for a reason.. Independents were understanding that President Obama was not as the right wing lied about, taking us down the road to Socialism...

He supports center right issues at times, until "we hold his feet to the fire"... This was the fire he was waiting for..

Which is what he should have been doing from the beginning.

Outwitting the Teabaggers proved to be a relatively simple affair.

He "outwitted" his doubters by doing exactly what they wanted him to do. If that's what it means to outwit someone, I wish it would happen more often, lol. Seriously though, I think you're completely ignorant as to who most of his doubters are on here, and bought into the outright lie that those of us who expressed criticism of his presidency were Ron/Rand Paul fans or rightwing plants. I think it makes you sound more like someone who is more interested in the success of him as an individual rather than real progress. Hero worship. I support progress, so if President Obama is involved in progressing this country in a positive direction, I support his decision. When he stands in the way of progress, I'm against it.

Thu Oct 17, 2013, 02:53 AM

The steep cuts from the sequester still remain in affect - and the Democrats of today are having to go to the brink to defend an approach to healthcare that not that long ago most Republicans - even self-identified conservative-Republicans supported until Democrats decided to abandon their approach and support the conservative-Republican approach to healthcare. All of this with assurances that finally the House and the Senate will take a serious look at "entitlement reform" and reducing discretionary spending -AKA cutting benefits for the elderly and disabled and the most vulnerable of society.

This "victory" shows just how reactionary both parties have become - with the Democrats being the sensible pro-business conservatives and the Republicans being the wild-eyed extremist who scared the hell out of the financial power houses.
