Senate DEBATE today = Tell Congress: Pass ENDA Now

E-mail this AM:

Coyotl,

Today, we have a shot at history - we can pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act through the U.S. Senate.

I've been reaching out to my Republican colleagues in the Senate and have won a few over to our cause, but we're not taking anything for granted.

We need your support and your voice right now to make this happen: Sign our petition and tell the Senate to finally pass ENDA and take one more step towards full equality for our LGBT family, friends, and neighbors.

Our constitution guarantees equal rights and protections under the law, and yet it's still legal in 29 states across America for people to be fired over those they love.

It's simply unconscionable, Coyotl, and we need to fix it. Now.

In just a few hours, the Senate will vote. Let's make history together: Please sign my petition and tell the Senate to finally pass ENDA.

Senator Jeff Merkley

Support ENDA: No one should be fired because of who they love.

Americans agree that discrimination is wrong – but it still happens in far too many workplaces. We've been fighting for equal protection for decades. Now, we have the chance to extend this basic right to all workers, including those in the LGBT community.

We need our laws to reflect our values. More than 17 years ago, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) failed in Congress by a single vote. We can't let that happen again. We can pass ENDA in the Senate this year – if our voices are heard. Tell Congress to listen and pass this common sense legislation once and for all.

Every person deserves equal protection. Add your voice in demanding that Congress end workplace discrimination now!
