Andy Joseph received a welding engineering degree from Ohio State University. This clean-shaven, buttoned-down Midwestern father of five likes making things, but he never expected to be selling those things to the medical marijuana industry. How did it happen?
"The cannabis industry came to me," he said.
One of the things Joseph's 12-year-old company, Apeks Supercritical, sells us a $63,500 piece of equipment that uses CO2 to extract oil from plants, including marijuana. Medical pot patients sometimes prefer consuming oils over smoking the plant.
I caught up with Joseph at the National Marijuana Business Conference outside Seattle. He explained that he had to overcome a reluctance to get involved in the businessall forms of marijuana are illegal in Ohiobut began to change his mind when he met with actual clients and their patients.
"There are real benefits from the medicine," he said.
Apeks has expanded to seven employees, and Joseph expects sales to hit $3 million this year.

(6,323 posts)but in Washington state, new Democratic Governor Jay Inslee is trying to kill medical marijuana because of the new marijuana business and the economic model business leaders are trying to forge.
But 1st things 1st, EVERYONE MUST PAY!

(6,323 posts)Of course there are limits and regulations, SB 5034 has been around in Washington State for 15 years but apparently is still in play?!
but your not going to become Al fucking Capone with those limits. People who can't afford the OTC market price make a small to large investment in a home grow system and become self reliant.
Not anymore.
This new approach means everyone must pay, even the patients who can afford it the least.

It will be such a boom to business. From horticulture to processing to sales and distribution. All easy and legal and taxable......as soon as some state determines that it wants to make history and overturn ignorance.
