I have come to the conclusion that...

many prominent Republicans are genuinely crazy and extreme. At first, I was a little skeptical about this notion and thought that they are just paid liars who intentionally mislead people so that they'll vote for more tax cuts. But after hearing Limbaugh, Palin, and now Glenn Beck decry the idea of Chris Christie becoming the GOP nominee, I'm now starting to think maybe they really ARE as crazy and ill-informed as they sound. IMO, no real political swindler would ever advocate sitting out an election if someone becomes their party's nominee because that would just boost the odds of the other major party to win. Furthermore, when looking at Christie's agenda, he has essentially done what the GOP wants him to do in NJ, whether it's union-busting, blocking tax hikes, or opposing minimum wage increases. He works with Pres. O ONCE during an emergency, and all of a sudden, these people threaten to sit out 2016. Smh...

P.S. Here is Glenn Beck suggesting that conservatives sit out the election:
http://www.mediaite.com/online/glenn-beck-why-bother-voting-at-all-if-gop-keeps-pushing-christies-and-romneys-on-us/

“I really will not vote for another person––never before in my life have I said this––I just voted in a stupid local election… for the love of peet, I vote! I will not vote for another Republican like Chris Christie or Mitt Romney. I will not vote. I will skip it. I will not cast my vote for that!”

That said, there are a few - not many, but a few - on our side of the fence, too. I've read, here on this board, people who insist they won't vote for Clinton if she's our nominee. How short-sighted and flat-out dumb-shit stupid is that?

It's all about the Supreme Court, and who is on it will change the face of America for the next half century.

Some of the other conservatives are either fanatic ideologues or just morons, but Beck seems to have a genuine deficit in his ability to be rational and connected to reality.

Beck is crazy. Lately beck has been pushing David Barton and Louie Gohmert to run against Cornyn for US Senate. The only way that a Texas Democrat will win that seat is for Cornyn to lose in the primary to someone like Gohmert or Barton

see them saying the same thing if it will cost an election. One other thing to consider, who will listen to their show if a right wing Republican is in the White House? Who will they complain about? Fox has made big bucks off of Obama. Beck and limbaugh will probably still sell books if a right wing Republican is potus, but I don't see the rest of the right wing following suit.

you'll see that same bunch yelling from the mountaintop that Chris Christie is the only person who can save the country. They do this schtick every four years.

But yes, they're still crazy.
