Unbelievable...Time Warner and Comcast may merge....One Big Monopoly

Saw this on the NBC business news page. Unfortunately, can't link to story because am on mobile device.

Gist of it is the two cable companies may be combined. BOTH OF THEM ARE ALREADY monopolistic giants, and this would create an immense monopoly in the cable and related industries.

It is in the prelinary, exploratory phase, but....

IF this goes forward, and if our so-called government allows it, then we might as well give up any hope that there is anything in this goddamn country to prevent the complete and total takeover of our economy and society by a handful if corporate oligarchs.

This can not be allowed.

I really ... REALLY can't stand Time Warner Cable.

They have a monopoly where I live (Mojave Desert)...and they frequenty advertise a bundle for $79.99/month ( TV, land-line, internet).....while I pay $155/month as a long-time costomer.

Like I said, TWC sucks....

"The reason you have not seen any of this in the media is because Warner Brothers parent company is AOL-Time Warner…. this GIANT owns 95 percent of the media… let me give you a clue as to what they own in the media business… New York Times papers/magazines, LA Times papers/magazines, People Magazine, CNN news, Extra, Celebrity Justice, Entertainment Tonight, HBO, New Line Cinema, DreamWorks, Newsweek, Village Roadshow and many, many more! They are not going to report on themselves. They have been suppressing my case for years."

I'd never heard of this case and can't find much in the MSM about it. I think media consolidation and corporatization is the largest threat this country has ever faced.

ON EDIT. Big oops. Just saw this debunked on snopes: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/matrix.asp How embarassing, but I'll leave the posting up anyway.
