History Channel running with it non-stop...cable networks doing the same.
How about just a day of silence?

(7,596 posts)I went out and saw a movie. That's it. I haven't turned on the TV once today.
I'm tired of making a big deal out of this event every year. I'm not saying we should forget it, obviously, but obsessing over this thing constantly just holds us back as a country and keeps us from truly moving on. Our reaction to 9/11 generated one of the worst periods in American history and I definitely don't need to be consistently reminded of it.

(99,909 posts)It was a blatant attempt at trying to exploit sympathy (I won't link to it) , but I'm thinking: "HEY AP!!!! Instead of invoking sympathy, why don't we get angry at the people really responsible for this - you know - Bush, Cheney, Rice, Scalia, Powell..."
Yeah 9/11 was an extremely horrible tragedy. But no amount of whining is going to bring back the people we lost on that terrible day, instead we can make things better by preventing another one and locking up the people who were really responsible.
