Louisiana church: Alcoholics Anonymous must leave, so we don't have gay marriages

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2014/09/28/us-louisiana-church-evicts-alcoholics-anonymous-group-blames-gay-marriage/

If you are baffled by this attempt at logic, you are not the only one.

A Louisiana church has decided to evict a chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous which had been meeting there for a number of years. The grounds? If they were allowed to stay, someone may try to coerce the church into performing gay marriages.

The fact that the two concepts have nothing to do with each other, doesn't seem to have stopped the leadership of the church.

This sort of decision is only to be expected from this sort of sectarians. Although probably a minority, more than a few Xian Evangelicals and Fundamentalists have it in for AA and other 12-step recovery groups because these groups are not only non-Christian, but almost equally as bad in their opinion, they aren't explicitly Born-again Protestant Evangelicals.

Despite the weird mind-bending--ahem--"logic" that motivated this decision, it is to be remembered that AA and other 12 step organizations have NO opinions on outside issues (Which probably also yanks the Wetwood parishoners' chains).

Why in the fuck am I not surprised?
If it wasn't for Jimmy Carter, I would say revoke the Southern Baptist tax exemption. Too many nutballs, and too many hapless rubes.
