1. I think that's a bit harsh. CDC has been sending out guidelines and communiques to hospitals

across the country for months re ebola. But you know that old saying: You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

I think lots of hospitals just file those away and never do the training or staff education. It's obvious Dallas Presbyterian did.

guidelines and updates etc etc etc, and people right here on DU who are supposedly medical professionals say such outrageous things, you know darned well they have never laid eyes on any of this:

ETA: the head of TX public health didn't exactly inspire my confidence when I heard him on a press conference. He seemed barely conversant in infectious disease matters and said a lot of what sounded canned, bland, and rehearsed fluff.
