The clips from the White House Correspondents Dinner have been hilarious! And he really seems to enjoy himself when he gets a chance to do things like this.

(1,185 posts)it's how they deliver it. He rocked it...made Jimmy Kimmel look like an amateur. I mean, what other Head of State can you see doing that? Merkel? Sarkozy? Or candidate... Mittens? I mean, really. And the Slow Jam ... Dude!

(26,217 posts)I am thinking that Prez Obama will be able to command a hefty fee for that after he leaves office. He is certainly an engaging speaker and has great timing.

(1,033 posts)I don't think he will obviously, but I do see him going on late night shows and potentially hosting SNL a lot for the 20-30 years he's politically active and out stumping for the Democratic Party.
Outside of being awesome, this would be great for the Dems. Having him do late night sketches and undoubtedly showing up on shows like The Daily Show a lot will do wonders for the party. Obama will be the face of the party for the next couple decades if reelected, and having a funny, talented, genuinely likable person be that face will do wonders for the party.

(23,156 posts)He does have impeccable timing, even if he's not writing his own material, which is what stand-up comics mostly do for themselves. At least at the beginning. People like Jay Leno have a lot of writers, but the average stand-up person is pretty much doing his own material.
