Basically the UK Tea party, but today's GOP are mostly all tea party morons anyway.

In comparison to American politics, Labour is far left or would be considered as far left in America. Center left in the UK is quite simply nothing like center left in America.

The Tories are to the left of the Democrats. It's a common mistake Americans often make about British politics. Unless you have lived in both America and the UK, or follow the politics of both routinely you can't begin to understand the difference.

You have no idea of what you are talking about.

You do understand that the Tories support a National Health Care system?
You do understand that Tories don't give a rats ass about God blessing the UK?
You do understand that the Tories support a woman's right to choose?

I suspect you are thinking of the Tory part under Thatcher. I remind you that Thatcher has been gone a long time.

The current Tory party in the UK is much more in line with the American Democratic Party. The Labour Party is to the left of the American Democratic Party.

Having lived in America for over 40 years and in the UK for a decade, I often have to explain that what Americans assume British politics to be like is just not so.

Now that the Tories have the majority things will be rather different. Slowly dismantling the NHS and privatization of services.

The Tories are nothing like the GOP and Labour is nothing like the Dems.

UK politics is on a whole different planet than American politics.

1. Religion never gets mentioned...from any party. It is simply not a factor.
2. The Conservatives (Tories) in the UK are more liberal than most American Democrats ever thought about being.
3. Labour, the more liberal party in the UK, are so far left of American Democrats that in America, they would be called dirty socialists and dismissed.
