Compare and contrast. (and I think there's a side of sexism here as well) No, I don't know for sure that the man is white, but I'd bet my life on it. Equal in the eyes of the law, my ass.
A job-seeking mom arrested last year after leaving her children in her vehicle while she had a job interview was sentenced Friday to 18 years supervised probation and allowed to apply for interstate travel.
Shanesha Taylor, 35, of Phoenix previously had pleaded guilty to one count of child abuse in an effort to resolve a case that garnered national attention, in part because of her tearful mugshot.
She left her sons, ages 2 years and 6 months at the time, in a sport utility vehicle while she interviewed for a job at a State Farm Insurance in Scottsdale, Ariz. In addition to her sentence, she will have to complete parenting classes and a treatment program for domestic-violence offenders.
The sentence comes two days after a frantic father called 911 in Quincy, Mass., 30 minutes after he realized that he had boarded a train for Boston and left his baby daughter in the back seat of his car parked at the station, according to The Boston Globe. Police found the child, who was fine because temperatures were mild, and the man was not charged.

A man left his 1-year-old child in his car parked at the North Quincy Red Line station on Wednesday, officials said.
In a recording of a 911 call that the man made at about 8:30 a.m., he said he was heading back from the Charles/MGH Red Line station in downtown Boston to get his child.
I left my 1-year-old baby in my suv by accident this morning at North Quincy Station, the man said. Im on my way back to the station now.

The man returned to the station, clearly distressed, about 20 minutes after the rescue, Quincy Police Captain John Dougan said.

The mans name is not being released as no criminal charges were filed.
Below is the mans emergency call, as recorded by Quincy police. It has been edited to remove his personal information.

(2,337 posts)The woman in question left the kids in the car of her own free will. The man forgot his child, immediately realized it, then did all the right things to correct it.
Also, I seem to recall that this woman's charges stem from failing to meet the very generous terms given to her upon her initial visit to the court. She was given a golden opportunity after willingly endangering her children's lives, then fucked it up. Read here for further details.

This man made a horrible mistake and immediately fixed it. This isn't about race.

Arizona has very strict laws on leaving children and pets in cars because of the extremely hot summers. NH not so much.

(30,481 posts)I believe Taylor also broke the terms of the original court agreement. Courts normally don't get all warm an fuzzy after that.

(44,962 posts)This woman still got probation even after not following the terms of her plea deal.
And how do you know what is the race of the man anyway?
