No cancer is a picnic. My cancer was caught very early, mostly because it hurt!! And in the scheme of things, it was next-to-nothing cancer as one can have cancer, and everything from the first symptoms to getting rid of it hurt like hell. So if any of this is real, the "no opioids" pledge will probably come to a quick end. I don't understand the weed is cool but oh no, morphine is evil! mentality.

92. Its a personal choice. Palliative medication isn't one size fits all. But pain....

will make one open to options and find the one that works. Never much cared for BWB, but I certainly identify with his situation.

Opioids are no fun for me. They make the pain different more than alleviate it. Sometimes by the time the pain is 'gone', so is the rest of the day and any memory of it. Cannabis works very well with me.

Part of the "ritual" with both my parents passing was putting a ton of Oxycontin and other pills and liquids down the drain. My dad died of colon cancer that had metastasized to his brain and liver, my mother died after being cured of breast cancer years before getting pancreatic cancer. We had offered my mother pot for the nausea of chemo with her breast cancer, but she chose not to. By the time she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - she passed within a month and she was almost unconscious for almost that whole time.

You do what you need to deal with pain and no one should judge. I'm lucky. My cancer is more a nuisance than a pain. My options are simple but they are my options.

I hope BWB is either joking or gets his miracle. I also hope he stays on discussionist.

I'm well aware of both this poster and BWB's posting history -- and not a fan of either one. One was PPR'ed, the other is allowed to post here no matter how many times posts are hidden.

Admin allows darkstar to post, same as they allow you and me. Therefore, the poster deserves the same level of protection from personal attacks as anyone else. Yet look around. A direct attack (Coors imbibing) on darkstar was allowed to stand; attacks that were no worse directed back at that poster were hidden.
