So things are nice and quiet here.

I don't want to talk about it, but that shouldn't stop anyone else.

Academy has made over a long period have been the greatest. Though some have been.

I'm still made that John Wayne won an Oscar instead of Dustin Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy.

I do understand that Wayne was a big favorite of folks out there. I do get that Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight weren't cowboys in the traditional film Western sense.

But I thought Hoffman was spellbinding and deserved better than he got.

and he has always looked like Dustin Huffman after that, except when he was "Tootsie". But, any other film Dustin was in....he always looked like Dustin. JMHO.

in an odd way, moreso when he's someone not like himself or any of us.

The loneliness in Ratso and Joe just overwhelms a lot of viewers. Somehow the film makes us carry the weight of it, since the characters are not truly durable enough to do it for themselves.

Through "self-deprecating humor"

How about more roles and nominations? That doesn't require any kind of special treatment, just a shade of objectivity.

I'll just assume that the Hollywood bosses have calculated what kind of films they think will sell the most tickets, attract the most publicity, make the most money, and win the most awards. Their formula apparently does not point to the inclusion of minorities at this time.

I thought Chris Rock's opening monologue was okay, but not great. I was hoping for a laugh out loud monologue. There were some funny moments, but not as much as I would have liked. I also thought some of the jokes might have gone above the heads of some of the people in the audience and people watching at home.

I did not hate the Stacy Dash joke as much as some of the people on twitter. I think I got the meaning of the joke. You would not put Stacy Dash in charge of a diversity effort and she is opposed to Black History Month.

I did not hate the beginning, or the first half hour, but I think it could have been better.
