A story from a RW white supremacist holocaust denying site has 100 recs

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027798083

Regardless of how we feel about an issue, can we at least make sure we understand where a story is coming from? Inadvertently spreading the "truth" according to Hal Turner is not what we want to be doing on DU.

surely even you know the difference?

Hal Turner has an agenda - everything he says and writes will be colored by that agenda. Why not find an "illegitimate" source whose agenda is not hate and racism?

She was in a unit preparing to bring back vehicles after the Iraq war. She is from the South Pacific and there has been no breast cancer in her genetic family background. Several other women in her unit were diagnosed with different cancers. It seems they came in contact with depleted uranium on those vehicles. The hospital back in the states she has her chemo at was loaded with young men and women with all kinds of strange cancers. So I tend to believe this story.

I purposely did not go into detail about some things I was told by her. There are a lot of young soldiers suffering from strange cancers not reported. There's a dirty secret not being reported in the MSM.

that is the hate site in question. Look at the actual story - the source is in the first line.

You should explain that you are not saying Vets Speak Out is right wing.

Also, this story is confirmed by multiple sources.

I think the Navy was reckless and needlessly exposed sailors to radiation. I support their law suit.

Here was my response on the other thread:

I voted to leave.

I did not go directly to the link in the OP, but googled Veterans Speak Out (in case there was a wiki/rationalwiki article on the site). No wiki, so I went to the site's homepage and did not see anything wrong with it.

Now that I went to the direct link provided in the OP and saw that the article was sourced from TRN, I agree with your comment (as well as the alerter's comment: The story come from a RW white supremacist site).

I guess I should have clicked on the direct link in the first place!

Also, I wish the alerter was a bit more specific regarding the source. For example: The source that Veterans Speak Out uses is an article from Hal Turner/Turner Radio Network. Here is a helpful link: https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/individual/hal-turner
