Can you imagine the Trump Republican Convention?
We had a great time last night coming up with what it might look like. I imagine one of his minions will be in charge. Lots of gold, Trump products everywhere, a gold throne for him to sit on after the vote. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

2. I doubt it will be.
Republican friends of mine all over the country are saying they want no part of this. One of them even posted a video for his friends showing him burning his Republican membership card (he has been a "proud member" since the 70's). He always goes to the convention, not this year and my guess is never again. He hates his governor too (Illinois).

5. They're a bunch of hypocrites
They wanted an outsider, business man, conservative. Now they complain. IMHO they were never about winning, "conservatism" is about selling books and making money off people's longings for the 1950's.

6. The NRA will be there, so I don't understand why guns are not allowed.
I mean guns are now allowed in some religious sanctuaries and schools, etc. why not the GOP's convention. Its only fitting.

8. True Story: In 2012 I started a petition for Trump to give the keynote speech at the GOP convention.

The thought being back then, Donald Trump would be so outrageous a speaker that it would be poisonous to the GOP's image in the 2012 race. Instead, we had Clint Eastwood shout at an empty chair for a half hour, which had more or less the same effect. Funny thing is, I'd never imagine he'd actually be giving the speech as the GOP nominee 4 years later. |
