Online Sources for Books and Articles

Last edited Tue May 10, 2016, 09:26 AM - Edit history (1)

At ChisolmTrailDem's suggestion, I'm making an OP of my post on his thread. The following links are to sites online where you can either download to your ebook reader or just read online. You can also get add-ons for your browser that will send an article to your reader. So, essentially, everything below could work well on your Kindle, Nook, or whatever

Internet Sacred-Text Archive
Welcome to the largest freely available archive of online books about religion, mythology, folklore and the esoteric on the Internet. The site is dedicated to religious tolerance and scholarship, and has the largest readership of any similar site on the web.
They aren't kidding! That place is huge!

Theoi Greek Mythology
Welcome to the Theoi Project, a site exploring Greek mythology and the gods in classical literature and art. The aim of the project is to provide a comprehensive, free reference guide to the gods (theoi), spirits (daimones), fabulous creatures (theres) and heroes of ancient Greek mythology and religion.

Internet Archive
Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, and more.

Project Gutenberg
Project Gutenberg offers over 50,000 free ebooks: choose among free epub books, free kindle books, download them or read them online.

We carry high quality ebooks: Our ebooks were previously published by bona fide publishers. We digitized and diligently proofread them with the help of thousands of volunteers.

Baen Free Library
Baen Books is now making available — for free — a number of its titles in electronic format. We're calling it the Baen Free Library. Anyone who wishes can read these titles online — no conditions, no strings attached. (Later we may ask for an extremely simple, name & email only, registration. ) Or, if you prefer, you can download the books in one of several formats. Again, with no conditions or strings attached. (URLs to sites which offer the readers for these format are also listed.)

FreeKindleBooks.org

And your library, of course. If their selection is limited due to the high cost of ebooks from the big publishers, tell them to consider this source for buying ebooks: eBooks Are Forever

Also, add your own sources so we can build this collection further.

Happy reading overload!

We need to get threads like this one pinned. I'd love it if we had a pinned thread just for news sources, for example.
