There's strategy behind his madness, you know. You can see it with the old Clinton sexwars veterans like Gingrich and Haley Barbour getting dragged out of the attic for a reunion tour of all their crazy assed Vince Foster / Paula Jones / murder list insane bullshit from the 90s. I was sick of it then and I'm sick of it now.
The plan is painfully obvious. They want to depress voter turnout. They want to make sane people so sick of US politics that hardly anyone shows up to vote. They want to turn your local election precinct into that ranting unpleasant drunk uncle you refuse to visit each Christmas because he'll just end up vomiting in the living room.
Jeb Bush was so wrong. That putrid orange bastard jolly well can insult his way into the White House.

(53,795 posts)I just knew in my bones people want something new, something different. But just now it hit me, looking at Haley Barbours vomit inducing retread of the Vince Foster tragedy. What they plan to do is blow up democracy to get at the US Treasury... but it's really just so they can fuck up the Clintons again.
As horrible as they have been to Obama, it never had the bloodsport feel to what they put the country through with their Clinton hatred -- probably mostly because they never really landed a punch on Obama. With the Clintons, they drew blood--Foster, Lewinsky, Ken Starr's inquisition, all of it bullshit and all of it so fucking tiring and tiresome.
They distracted the president when he should've been focusing on bin Ladin. It's so disgusting. It makes me feel like I don't want to fight anymore. And this is what they want. They want to wear us down till we all quit voting.
Fuck them. They want to wear me down? Fuck them. They're gonna finally make me love Hillary. She's corrupt, but she's not their flavor of evil. Fuck them all. NOW I'm ready to fight.

(53,795 posts)She didn't run. So it won't happen. All that really matters right now is winning in November. I don't see Clinton turning out mobs of people if Trump is planning on running a fatigue campaign, knowing full well that the mainstream infotainmedia pathologically can't resist aiding him by obsessing over Clinton sexdeath atavism.
What would turn masses of Democratic voters out? That is all than can matter until the Trump crisis passes.

(44,743 posts)In fact they seem to be attempting to go the other way. Not a wise move if they want to win .

I really do not see the American people sending him back to the WH even if he is just going to live in it.

Hillary will try to make trump the devil himself. And trump will try to make Hillary the most corrupt, dishonest person alive. Both will pull out all the stops to win.

(6,965 posts)Trump is such a hypocrite, he has no room to slam Bill Clinton.
He cheated on his first wife and young kids with his 2nd wife, then cheated on his 2nd wife and small kids with his 3rd wife, and you can bet Mrs Trump the 4th is waiting somewhere in the wings
The younger generation, especially women, will I'm sure be more interested in what Trump said about putting women in JAIL if they had abortions. He already plans to appoint fascistic, Scalia-type justices to the High Court, and it won't take long for them to overturn Roe v Wade.

And I'm already feeling utter ennui just hearing the word Trump.

I hope to God she realizes this. How do you humble a winner before the contest?

(14,255 posts)Anyone who is surprised is pretty naive.
It never mattered in the least that, supposedly, Hillary has already been "vetted". Actually, she has all the Clinton baggage up to when she lost to Obama, and then all the baggage from her SOS years and Clinton Foundation years. The email thing. Benghazi. It does not matter in the least that Hillary is used to it, or whatever - it only matters what voters think of it. Does not matter if it is true. But most of it IS true. She knew that, going in.
Doesn't matter if you are sick of it. You are not Trump's audience.

(880 posts)It's a ridiculous subject to bring up! But, in looking at the article this story came from, it looks as if he was asked about Foster? Why would a paper ask him a question like that? Was it on anyone's mind at this point? It's not as if he just blurted it out from nowhere. Don't get it.

(53,795 posts)And you know exactly why Scarborough brought it up and exactly why he had an irrelevant has-been like Barbour on for an interview. Joe's job is to stir up the shit for the Clinton haters. Their game is to wear us down and to wear down all the casual voters who are just now starting to pay attention to political arguments.
Now you should get it. The goal is voter suppression and the weapon of choice is public disgust.

(53,795 posts)They've been working on this script since Clinton was nominated for Senator in 2000. This year's election has been everyone's endgame for almost two decades. Only Obama and now Trump have interrupted the game, but have still played their own roles in this conflict. It's like watching the Illuminati and the Freemasons finally climbing out of the woodwork to finish off their little feud that's been brewing since 1991.
Personally, I'm sick of the lot of them, the Clintons and the Arkansas Project fanatics. But like it or not, as Americans we do have a dog in this fight. And we need someone we don't particularly trust to win it.
