Somehow, someway, I don't think he will be the Republican nominee. I don't know how, why, or when. but that is what I believe. His ego is so large, that this is hard to imagine..but I will put it up here on June 2, and I will admit I am wrong when he is nominated officially. (not the first time I will be wrong, and not the last)...oh well...

(82,849 posts)If Trump isn't the Republican nominee (assuming he doesn't die or become totally incapacitated), there will be a political bloodbath the likes of which our nation hasn't seen for quite some time.

(38,365 posts)Just too many lies and insane crap this early. It is show, and he will lose...Perhaps he will realize that he will lose so bad that it will hurt a lot of those who support him..unlikely..but maybe...
Or..perhaps the media will turn against those lies. After all, the media is owned by a few elite, and they will stand to lose if a truly incompetent person leads this country. If the media turns totally against him, perhaps that will force him out. I am stating this because there is something crazy..much too crazy and awful about this. His statements get worse and worse..and his defense against his shame university will not stand. As said, I am probably wrong.. that is ok too..

(11,619 posts)It is the will of the Republican voters to run a megalomaniacal narcissist with delusions of grandeur for president. I think he will be there in November.

I think they're stuck with him.

(15,139 posts)He entered the race out of an abundance of massive ego and never expected to get this far. Now he's more or less trapped by his unexpected success and still saying outrageous shit hoping it will eventually bring him down. He had no idea he was made of teflon.
My prediction: In cahoots with the party establishment, he'll choose a more polished, acceptable running mate and step down at some point before November citing personal and business reasons. Then he'll walk away from the whole shit show and leave it to the party to clean up the mess.

(19,356 posts)Trump's rhetoric and actions become more and more bizarre the closer he comes to the nomination. The other day he even said his current bellicose and belligerent and childish manner (when he was berating the press) will be the mark of the Trump White House.
Why?
Might he subconsciously want to lose?
Let's watch how he treats possible success as he gets closer and closer to November. My prediction is that he will try to sink himself is he's not already sunk by the exposure of his con-man past.
This season will have fine political entertainment value. (But it would be better if it wasn't so frightening.)

(122 posts)Whatever he is up to, he is a quitter by history, and terrified of the prevailing culture's judgment, once his "Apprentice" persona grows tedious for all or most.

(50,170 posts)I've always thought the whole thing started out as an ego trip/joke and got totally out of hand. He seems to be trying his hardest to tank his nomination by sounding like a back ward lunatic.
"...sounding like a back ward lunatic." This whole Trump gig smells fishy somehow. I will be so very glad to read all about it a few years down the road. It is fascinating, like Bizarroworld in the Superman comics of my youth. Strange times.
