Peyton Manning's dodge on Trump: "I’m just a meathead. I can’t talk politics.”

On Donald Trump: “I played a round of golf with him in Tahoe. I didn’t play real well, so I was kind of focused on trying to find my ball... The times I’ve been around him, he’s been extremely nice to me. ... I’m just a meathead. I can’t talk politics.”

College educated adult at 40 years of age, and you "can't talk politics?" Give me a break.

...I'm going to vote for him but I know that's not popular and I have a brand image to protect. And, IIRC, he's the largest Papa John franchisee and he's probably got some company line to toe.

As some point, silence is approval. How hard it to say:

"I'm just a meathead but the kind of race baiting and name calling that's become a trademark of his campaign...well, what I know is that we wouldn't tolerate it in the NFL so I don't know why we tolerate it in America".

At a bare minimum, he could have done that.

Then the Hawks scored a touchdown off of it in, what was it? 22 seconds?

Great day...

For example, this thread.

Jeez, if someone does not want to be involved with all the degenerates and losers in politics, that is his choice as an American.

Start affiliating with one politically loaded candidate or issue and you risk people boycotting your "employers" and endangering your sponsorship contracts.

That said, given his affiliation with Papa John's I don't think anyone harbors any doubt on who Manning is likely to support in a POTUS election.

Peyton was an ass in college in knoxville and he is still an ass. T. Martin was the best QB University of Tennessee has had, but was benched for 3 years because of who Peyton's Daddy was.

Many people outside of knoxville don't know that and many people in knoxville deny it. Almost everyone thinks Peyton is the king of the shit-heap around here.

Thing is, I believe Tom Brady is an idiot savant. Only knows football, how to take orders from a legitimate sociopath and nothing else. Just look at that nutter cookbook he "wrote".

"I’m just a meathead. I can’t talk politics."

Yea, that is pretty much the definition of owning it. Why is it anyone else's business again?
