In January 2001, I correctly predicted that George W. Bush would start something up with Iraq.

I figured it was a matter of him finishing his dad's unfinished business, and he had surrounded himself with enough hawks to make it all possible. The handwriting was on the wall, even before September 11th.

Here's my prediction for early 2017....I predict that within a month of Trump taking office, Vladimir Putin will move his troops into at least one of his neighbors (besides Ukraine where he's already at).

Trump will look the other way and claim it's a matter of "America First" so he's not going to get involved. We'll all know the real reason, though.

1. iraq was a no-brainer. by all accounts, getting saddam was the reason he wanted to be president

in the first place. before poppy stopped short of baghdad, shrub didn't seem to be interested in much of anything, and after, he didn't seem to be interested in much of anything besides getting rid of saddam.

the putin prediction is bold only in the timing, so let's see if he actually moves in the first month. donnie has all but given him the green light in his comments about nato and his admiration for putin.

frankly, donnie makes chamberlain look like a tough negotiator and stalwart defender of europe.

Not to diminish your foresight any. I myself did not see it. This new conjecture of yours seems likely the tit-for-tat one could expect

Lots of oil there. The weapons will be drill rigs with Exxon logos.

I was thinking more of one of the Baltic states.

And Trump uses it as an excuse to ditch NATO.

Those Balkans... they're lined up like dominoes. Big domino is Poland. Does that sound familiar to you?

Tommy. Putin will seek to break the NATO alliance by invading one of the smaller neighboring NATO nations. Trump will refuse to meet our treaty obligations, throwing the entire planet into panic.

Mine has some haze where the time line should be, though. It does seem likely that Putin will act before something causes Trump to suspect Putin may not really like and admire him all that much. Or something else triggers one of his uncontrollable and unpredictable narcissistic rages requiring replanning.

Those poor people over there...
