WAMC: many of those alarmed by Trump are turning to Sanders for guidance

Sen. Bernie Sanders: 'We Need To Organize And Mobilize'
WAMC Northeast Public Radio

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) didn’t win the Democratic Party’s nomination for President. The Democratic Party didn’t win the Presidential Election. And the Democratic Party didn’t regain control of either house of Congress.

Now, many of those alarmed by the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump are turning to Sanders for guidance as to how to wage an effective opposition force. His main point? Organization is everything.

“We need to organize in a way that we have never organized before,” Sanders told On Point host Tom Ashbrook in an interview Thursday, December 22. “We need to bring working people all across this country — black, white, Latino, Asian American, Native American — together to tell Mr. Trump that will not tolerate the formation of an oligarchy in this country.”

“On every major important issue, the American people are on our side,” Sanders said. “We can defeat Trump, we can stop his ugly initiatives, we can push forward some progressive initiatives, if we are effective at organizing and mobilizing millions of people….The only way that we are effective and stop bad things are when people mobilize and fight back. If we stand together, I think we can effectively take on his ugly ideas and continue the fight for a progressive vision for this country.”

almost entirely from individual contributions, a "mess." I know you hate Bernie and that's your right, but his campaign was anything but a mess.

8. You have to be kidding. Raising money isn't organizing. All he did was have rallies. No ground game.

It's why he was crushed.

He had no staff registering people.

Remember in one of the caucus states Sanders supporters were apoplectic because Clinton's team drove handicapped people to show up? Sanders had nothing but fund raising and rallies.

Again, that isn't organizing.

Our phenomenal ground game lost to a guy with zero ground game. Zero.

Apparently ground game doesn't mean shit in the general.

He started off with very little name recognition and went on to pack stadiums.

He must have done something right...

and then make them work for it by holding it close to our ideals and ethics and denying them easy access.

If BLUE STATES will take a stand on Medical care and Wage and Retirement structure and real
environmental into the infrastructure work that values the actual worth of a human being then we
will have something that they don't have.

Plus, they have completely given up the "Moral Values" ground and they know it.

We can't back down or give in...they need to actually realize why BLUE STATES exist.

It's a real drag the article offers no evidence to support its own premise (anecdotal and the vague qualifier "many" being the best allowed to us).
