(1,353 posts)About Conway going on about Clinton pay to play...and then she rattled off ALL the pay to play Trump and family are engaging in... Conway: "it's not the same...it's not the same..."
Wow, she needs a smackdown and Rachel is doing a pretty good job!!

(51,368 posts)It absolutely is not the same. Neither Hillary nor any of her family members benefited from donations to the Clinton foundation. They received no money from the foundation, it all went to the Clinton Foundation's mission to help the poor and sick around the world. The same cannot be said about the Trump Foundation, or Ivanka sitting in on the meeting with the Japanese President while Ivanka was seeking a loan in Japan for her retail business. Or Trump's sons auctioning off time with Ivanka and Donald himself. It is the very definition of "pay to play."

(13,776 posts)People always talked about donations to the Clinton Foundation while she was SoS as if they were donations to the Clintons themselves. NEVER did I hear or read a clarification that the Clintons did not personally benefit from donations to the foundation. Of course I assumed that they didn't, while wondering whether I was the one who misunderstood (otherwise why would anybody make such a big deal out of it), but I wonder how many people just assumed that donations to the Trump Foundation were no worse than those to the Clinton Foundation.

(108,925 posts)they donated many millions of their own money to the Foundation -- which did important work like supplying low-cost HIV meds to poor people around the world.
DT, on the other hand, hasn't donated to his own foundation since 2008 -- and he had turned it into his personal piggy bank for paying legal bills.

(15,805 posts)As expected, Rachel is well armed with facts, something Kellyanne seems to be totally unfamiliar with. She repeatedly falls back to the hackneyed tropes Trump used during the campaign instead of giving actual substantive replies.
She appears rigid, not only in to interactions with Rachel, but also in her overall demeanor and even her posture. She apparently arrived with the assumption she was going to have a lovely tea and would her an uninterrupted prime time slot to buff up Trump's creds for a liberal audience.

She is just one step away from Palin, who couldn't even say things that sounded like sentences.

(25,167 posts)disclaimer of sorts - kind of a grovelling - perhaps her network bosses called in and told her she was too tough on KellyAnn.
I hope Rachel doesn't get intimidated by Trump and his minions.

(83,338 posts)I do not watch TV the media are hacks. Always loved Rachael yet why the hell were they not attacking sTrump all along. They gave him a pass. Now is a little to late. They helped build him, they own him. Sorry to say Rachael included.

She is just too chirpy in the face of DT's loathsomeness.

(1,074 posts)During the last segment, Rachel talks about how tRUMP lied about Martha Raddatz. Then, the discussion goes onto Kelly Anne saying that if people would just stop lying, then Melania wouldn't have to file lawsuits. That's when Rachel should have said, "Yeah, you mean like how Mr. Trump lied about Martha Raddatz???"

(8,188 posts)Kelly Anne said that even though Melania got a retraction, the damage still exists and she should still sue. But with Martha Raddatz, Kelly Anne said that Trump apologized privately, and that was sufficient even though the public never heard a retraction. I was surprised that after setting it up so brilliantly, Rachel didn't connect the dots and call her out on the hypocrisy.

(3,425 posts)I can hardly stand to watch MSNBC any more. I now listen to BBC world news. It is quite refreshing to listen to a real news show with very little opinionated interpretations from the reporter. It is also good to know what is happening
all over the world, rather than just here. It also helps me keep my mind off the shit show that will start in January.

(9,903 posts)...how it ended. If you can sue a liar/journalist and put them out of business for lying, then thousands could sue Trump. His lies about the ABC reporter were not tied-in and Hillary Clinton could sue Kellyanne Conway. Also, I thought they were too chummy. I get that it's Rachel's style and she want access to Trump and would like to keep her job... I guess that's okay and Rachel could be replaced with a more "fair and balanced" host. That would be bad.

(570 posts)If Rachel was really going to bring the hammer down on Conway, she needed to contrast Melania's lawsuit with Trump's slandering of Martha Raddatz being ok. No public apology needed.
Journalists need to start doing their jobs! Start connecting the dots! Cause the American people really suck at it! The Trump family needs to be held up as the two-faced hypocrits they really are!
This is why the corporatization of our media was the first strike in undermining of our democracy.
