If the Rockettes are forced to perform or lose their jobs,

I say let them all refuse the day before the event. Either that or end their performance by mooning Trump.

We could start a GoFundMe campaigh to provide them some unemployment cash.

i think they should do the normal act... but poorly enough to be obvious they're doing it poorly on purpose.

kinda like a work slowdown.

if they all secretly glued big wads of black hair all over their asses before doing the show.

OMG I think I would break a few bones from laughing so hard...

finding other work. They are well-regarded professional dancers and they'd probably get a lot of extra points for refusing to perform for der Trumpenführer. I think it would be sort of cool if they all showed up but instead of dancing just stood there and refused to perform.

Good for those Rockettes who are making this crap known.

Most of the Rockettes do not want to perform at the inauguration. AGVA, their union, has put in writing to the full time Rockettes that they must accept the inauguration gig or they will lose their jobs. It's perfect, actually. What could be more fitting for this inauguration than forcing a group of women to do something with their bodies against their will?

I like the idea of GoFundMe, although I doubt they'll need it. I can't imagine they'd have trouble finding jobs.

Seriously, I really think someone needs to step-up and release the Rockettes from their plight.

A goFundMe is a good start, but, keeping them together in a new venue would be a better long term solution. If I could even come close to affording such a thing, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

It would be SPECTACULAR!

If the management contracts for a performance, then why would they have a choice?

I could see if it was a "political" event in the sense of a partisan political event or an event by an organization advancing a particular political point of view. However, the Inauguration is not "political" in that sense of the word.

Obviously have nothing to do with what dancers in NYC decide to do. So, I'm making no decisions for anyone.

It's voluntary if you're one of the freelancers, but if you are one of the full-time, union dancers, it is mandatory.

"If you are not full time, you do not have to sign up to do this work. If you are full time, you are obligated," it added later.

Right now there are 12 full-time, and 24 freelance dancers.
