You dont have to agree on anything just to be kind to one another

Man draws cheers and jeers for refusing to help a stranded Trump supporter
Lisa Gutierrez
Kansas City Star

Earlier this month, when Ohio got slammed by a heavy winter snowstorm, Troy Brown came across a motorist stuck in the snow.

Any thought of helping apparently flew right out of his head when he saw the car had a Trump bumper sticker. The photo that he posted to Facebook of the car has gone viral.

He wrote that he does not support “Trump supporters, rapists, trafficking, or murderers. I believe in peace and harmony. Trump didn’t display that.”

In May, Trump supporter and tow truck driver Ken Shupe refused to help a female Bernie Sanders supporter after she was involved in a car crash when he saw the Sanders sticker on her car.

“Every business dealing in recent history that I’ve had with a socialist-minded person, I haven’t got paid,” Shupe told a local TV station.

So he refused to tow her.

“Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave,” Shupe, who identified himself as a conservative Christian, told the TV station.

The motorist he left stranded told The Washington Post: “You don’t have to agree on anything just to be kind to one another.”

Merry Christmas, one and all.

BTW, I was being an "asshat," as you refer to me, by agreeing only that I would leave the Furher-Elect supporter's car stranded in the snow til someone more sympathetic came along. (Can't stand tRump supporters, sorry, I admit it.)

I would, of course, come to the aid and comfort of the stranded Bernie supporter... at no charge. Love Bernie and his supporters!!

Anyway, you take care Kelly... hope your day improves, I really do. All the best.

lest they forget how to fend for themselves.

So let them fend for themselves.

Besides - and I know some people in particular on DU seem to forget this on a regular basis - some people are not white - and often when not-white people show up to help - white folks, especially the Trump-supporting kind, roll up their damn windows at best, or reward the good Samaritan with a face full of lead because they were "afraid for their lives."

When they need help, suddenly things are different.

That said, they are against government help, not help in general. Might help you themselves, they just don't want the government to help "those people."

"Helping someone" or "being kind" is a personal choice. One of those "personal freedoms" that the Republicans preach about all the time.

I would definitely exercise the personal freedom of driving on by a vehicle that had a Trump sticker on it.

There are plenty of people in this world for me to be kind to and to help.

...help them, even if they're undeserving. You don't want to turn into a hard-hearted person who would hurt someone by an act of omission. Don't be resentful when you're not rewarded. You have your reward by being able to see someone you like in the mirror.

Actually, I am not going to stop on the road to help anyone, anywhere. Too much risk. I may pull over down the road aways and call 911, but I am not going to expose myself or my family to a potentially risky situation.

Check it out. That's how I feel about fucking Trump supporters.

They weren't just walking down the street one day, tripped, fell into a voting booth and accidentally hit their head on the Trump button!

Voting and supporting this hate-filled orange sack of pus was NOT a passive act. It took thought and effort. It was premeditated.

Let them "go Galt". It's what they've been fucking screaming they want for the past 4 decades...and probably longer than that

Trump has already vowed to take away health insurance from millions, many of whom won't survive, by repealing ACA. He has already vowed to tear apart immigrant families by deporting undocumented Latinos. He has already vowed to kill innocents by bombing the families of terrorists. He has already incited violence against women, minorities, and Muslims. Even children at school are being bullied because of him, and it is not out of the question that some may harm themselves once they can no longer deal with the harassment.

How many lives has Sanders destroyed or vowed to destroy?
