I am hoping because of the firing of Comey this will put the brakes on the republican's legislative

agenda, or at least slow it down significantly until 2018 where we have an opportunity to take back Congress

I don't see the republicans removing trump from office through impeachment or the 25th amendment, but I am hoping this delays things significantly that Washington comes to a standstill.

Probably wishful thinking, but I think that is our best chance right now

Call your representatives. Tell them that you expect them to focus on the constitutional crisis facing the U.S.

If the Republicans continue to ram legislation through, citizens need to vote them out.

debating Comey's replacement, and this should also bring more focus on both the Senate and House investigation on the Russian connection.

No doubt they would like to accelerate it, but events might actually prevent that

If the Democrats won the special election in Georgia's 6th district, I think republicans would start to be very concerned about their agenda, and their association with trump

A lot of IFs, I know

Before too long, enough Republicons will get scared for their chances in 2018 and will want to shed the toxic tRump baggage. Then there will be a rush for the exits to get rid of tRump.

Democrats need to filibuster and do everything they can in the House to stop legislation until an independent Special Prosecutor is appointed.

This really is a bridge too far.
