http://observer.com/2017/05/louise-mensch-fisa-trump-conspiracy-theory/I frankly think she is an amazing Twitter user...but have always been very skeptical of her content.

(2,533 posts)I'm not paying any attention to her. She could be planting stories hoping the dems will run with false stories & end up with egg on our faces

(4,742 posts)Not sure about the Rupert thing but frankly she could easily be "Fake News." Hey why not.

(14,040 posts)From what I understand it was a small regional mag so not something that foments a lot of deep sources.
I could go on Twitter and start a blog and spout off my theories and probably end up being just as correct as she has been (stopped clock and all that).
I tend to stay away from her stories because it smacks way too much of fake news/InfoWars for the left by a righty for me to invest in.
WaPo, NY Times, WSJ, Reuters, hell, even Buzzfeed gives me ample news to be happy about.

(4,742 posts)That also goes for that stupid Rogue WH Staff Twitter account. I mean really I could do the exact same thing from my recliner I'm sitting in right now.
Wounded Bear
(58,440 posts)but she strikes me as a "Left leaning" Drudge wannabe, hoping for her Monica Lewinski story to put her into the national spotlight.

(31,688 posts)Referenced an article from January 2016 - and it was / is well known she worked for Murdoch - and her prior political position(s).

(37,133 posts)...in that distant time before any primary or caucus votes had been cast for either party. It distinctly lacked any mention that she stopped working for NewsCorp within the year.
It's kind of a big thing to leave out.
In fact, the obsessive aura around some posts against Mensch and the sheer ineptness of their promulgating claims that can be checked and debunked within about 2 minutes have left me joking that they're actually sly campaigns to drive traffic to her sites.
Mensch is a self-identified conservative (British version), so boatloads of caution are warranted She can tweet all she likes, but everyone needs to remember that until the frogmarches begin it's little more than vaporware.
I've seen some of her stuff from retweets, and things posted here on DU and elsewhere, and have been pretty indifferent about her; I see no need to treat her stuff the way people can breathlessly await the latest trailer for a movie that has an actual release date.
But the kamikaze attempts at driving people away from her have become quite interesting.

(51,129 posts)She worked for a news service that was owned by a Murdock entity, got demoted apparently for her Never Trump politics, and is no longer working there. I assume because she has been tweeting stories and posting blogs they don't like.

Tried and true method. Plant bullshit, get people talking about it. Ignore the shiny thing over there- this is better

Low post cts mean nothing unless they're promoting pro Trump/Putin/ GOP demise of our USA.
There are more than enough reasons to go after Trump & his pals rather than spend the energy discrediting someone who has stepped out to expose the work of Putin.
My opinion.

(17,572 posts)....she was mentioned in a very positive way on a podcast that popped into my earbuds in the middle of the night.
Demit
(11,238 posts)were whopping tells that she doesn't know what she's talking about. She could at least have looked up what things MEAN and what agencies do what, before making such silly pronouncements. That's what a serious & responsible reporter would do.
Instead, she & Claude whoever try to impress with nonsense like "separate sources," as if the phrase itself is corroborative evidence.

(9,670 posts)If mass media confirmation even takes place.
With the fear of Russian bots and disinformation campaigns running rampant, I disbelieve the character assassination reports on Mensch and Taylor more than I disbelieve Mensch and Taylor.
This opinion is subject to change if corroboration is not forthcoming.

(35,454 posts)" Kushner will "no longer have an ownership stake" in the Observer business or play any role in its affairs, the company said.
It's not clear to what extent the 35-year-old Kushner will divest himself financially from the business, with CNN reporting that the stake will go into a family trust."
I'm betting that as things go with these people "not clear to what extent" has a whole different meaning than what it normally does.

(678 posts)Now why would "The Observer" be trying so hard to discredit a independent journalist/blogger..hmm
Mensch & Taylor have been right on their leads more often than not.
I'l stick with these two & take what they report with as much skepticism as anything else I read.
Why should I take The Observer's word?
titaniumsalute
(4,742 posts)I don't really know much about the Observer but it is hard to deny much of what is in this article regardless of the point of why they printed it.

Nope just a damning hit piece to discredit.

Louise Mensch @LouiseMensch
Well, a week ago I reported @SpeakerRyan was on tape admitting he knew Russia was funding the GOP; @WashingtonPost confirmed that yesterday
No apologies from the Mensch critics anywhere to be found ~

(678 posts)Louise Mensch.
"Former Tory MP and whizbang author, Mensch, the subject of a recent Guardian profile, moved to New York in 2012 and we are the better for it.
Relentless, dauntless, irreverent, and locked-in-on-target, her open letter Dear Mr. Putin, Lets Play Chess is a must-read primer and prescient as hell.
Her Twitter feed is like Sherlock Holmes on jet-boots and infused with James Bond elan; also humor, which always helps."
The article also highlights other fine journalists/ writers/Speakers who have agenda in outing Trump.

(2,176 posts)At first she was interesting, but the constant self promoting is tedious. I have no doubt she guessed some things correctly, we all do. Most people don't see the need for 20 tweets saying, "see I got it right!" She kind of reminds me of the twittler.
