Did Russian psyops invent "Liberal Media"?

In an attempt to demonize the free press in our country and now we have this threat to our 1st Amendment.

Coincidence?

I think they've been working with RW Republicans for years. And through RW talk radio.

and the myth of the "liberal media" is almost certainly such a thing. However, since Putin took over, and especially in the last few years, it's quite possible that the Russians have been capitalizing on and weaponizing it.

Notably, Goebbels talked about propaganda techniques nearly 100 years ago.

When Ailes and Murdoch started Fox news, they knew to use "F&B" and call the media liberal. They didn't need help from Russia on that, even if they got help from Russia later.

...or, arguably, even earlier...the Goldwater convention in '64 had delegates hissing and cursing the "press". The "liberal media" business, though, really began with Spiro Agnew attacking the media in speeches written by Pat Buchanan in 1969-70. This crystallized a lot of general rancor the Right had long held for the press, like the '64 incidents I mentioned. It's possible that the Russians, since the rise of Fox "News", have been developing it into new levels of irrationality and hate. This would be bad enough.

during the Glasnost 80s, before Reagan's policies really had a chance to work their magic for plutocrats.

I have no doubt they have been generous with funding and suggesting content, especially once the Commies were out and Russia went godly again..

I'm just hoping this is the kind of thing that turns on a dime, like it has in the past.

one in the field, it really pisses me off that people in a supposedly "helping field" would be evil enough to knowingly do evil. Although, a lot of psychiatrists and psychologists are Republicans.
