"SNIP.........
Conservative House Republicans hissed and groaned at Trumps Treasury Secretary, and they laughed at the Presidents Budget Director during a meeting where they were asked by the White House to support the hurricane relief/debt limit increase bill.
Bloomberg reported:
Conservative House Republicans hissed and groaned at Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin as he implored them to vote for a hurricane relief bill that includes a short-term extension of the federal debt limit.
.
Republicans also laughed at White House budget director Mick Mulvaney during his presentation. Several said it was ironic that Mulvaney, who as a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus led several fights over the debt limit and pushed to shut down the government, pleaded with Republicans to pass the kind of measure he used to crusade against.
The far right House Republicans refused to vote for hurricane relief and keeping the government open because they did not want to vote to increase. The Republicans were described as being insulted and outraged by the presentation.

(51,432 posts)but they weren't all far right. McCain, Flakes, etc were on the list. I think the group that voted NO was split into two groups...Tea Party/Freedom Caucus voted no on principle and the less conservative just wanted to say Fuck Off the the fake prez.

(3,867 posts)The four Texas Republicans who voted no were Rep. Joe Barton, Rep. Jeb Hensarling, Rep. Sam Johnson, and Rep. Mac Thornberry, none of whose districts are in the region hardest hit by the storm.
The Two Florida Republicans who voted against the legislation were Rep. Matt Gaetz and Rep. Ted Yoho.
