had his house flooded. My sister had a limb come through her bedroom. No one hurt.

It floods all the time when it rains anything more than an inch. The swirl of the storm plus several hours of insane rain (from 1:00am-6:00am Monday) did a number on it.

My house is close to the river but not downtown and on a raised bluff 20+ feet above sea level.

People jammed too much stuff into an area too low and too close to the water.

Was planning a big bash for her 99 year old mom in early October. Need to touch base to make sure they're safe.

The storm surge got everyone from Jacksonville to Charleston. The NHC and experts like Dr. Jeff Masters have been predicting this for 8-10 days.

by the time Irma got up there, the rainwater was so copious it couldn't return to the sea after flooding. (So I heard explained on TV)
