May Be NSFW - People touching Statues

Andras Hadik was a famous Hungarian hussar. This simply means that he was part of one of the most famous Hungarian army units and that he was quite a remarkable soldier. In fact, he had the highest rank in the army in Austria-Hungary during the Seven Years’ War. In 1937, they decided to erect a statue in his honor.
And, of course, grabbing his horse's privates became (don't ask why) associated with good luck.

Other statues and their rubbings:

Where's those naked Trump statues that were popular a few months back???

1. The Wall Street Bull

I've seen people get down on their hands and knees and simulate licking his balls.

I was appalled. After that, the above story and photo is not at all shocking to me.

2. In Punta Arenas Chile, it is customary for Antarctic-bound scientists

to "rub the toe" at the Magellan monument for good luck. (the statue is in one of the town squares)

If woe befalls someone at sea or on station, the first comment is always "someone didn't rub the toe".

It's been well rubbed...
