Is Trump's strategy for Puerto Rico some sort of Final Solution?

Three+ million people need a whole lot of food. Scavenging and tapping stores will only get them so far. Right now, it sounds like the island's capacity to produce food is nearly nil. There don't seem to be any plans or even any will to create a supply chain with the capacity needed, even for bare subsistence.

Is he just going to let them die?

they end up selling everything to the new oligarchs and working for minimum wage in factories set up by the ownership class. Company towns... where you rent your home and buy your food from your employer... and often wind up in debt even though you are working full time.

a military guy to head the operation now, so someone will take responsibility and, hopefully, go into Emergency overdrive.

Just terrible. We don't take Syrian refugees. Now, we don't even help our own citizens. Reprehensible. Immoral.

That is the plan ... all 3+ million people will die, by the end of the weekend.

ffs

Like PR is the only place getting any attention because it is in the worst condition ... right this minute.

The desire of this site to place blame for shit that can not be helped is crazy.

Three major storms have hit in the last month, the entire Caribbean is destroyed. Oh ... and Texas ... Florida ...

what are you doing sitting around on social media, Girard?

Maybe go learn a little bit about what you're talking about? Because this shocking post suggests you haven't spent 2 minutes learning about what is being done and what is not.

To accuse our nation of not having "any plans or even any will" is shockingly, 100% ignorant and an enormous insult to all those working to exhaustion to save the people of PR and USVI.

Two points:

1. It's all in the numbers. I don't doubt that the people on the ground are working their hearts out, but if you don't do the volume, the job isn't getting done.

2. There's a reason it's called a supply chain. Every link has to work. It doesn't help to point to one link being super-de-duper when one down the line is inop.

You've picked up a couple new terms from the headlines at least, Gerard, supply chain, distribution. How that supports your suspicion that our nation is launched on a program of genocide I do not see.
