It's become obvious (at least through Twitter) that Russia has not stopped trying to interfere in our politics.
And I can't help but think Russia is working deeper than thatperhaps local politics, judges.
I think Nixon was nothing compared to what we are about to experience.
Trump and Pence are traitors. The GOP is not American, they are their own country. A country of rich.
Many of us are comfortable now, but these are very scary times.

(34,977 posts)It needs to be another thing we use as we also create a distinction between Putin and his band of cronies and the "107%" of the people who voted for him, we steer the conversation back to human and civil rights for Russian people, and we remember Putinism's victims such as Sergei Magnitsky and the people on MH17.
Talking about these things may get you a silent alerter just to warn you though. Sign you're doing something right.

(203,041 posts)They're doubling down now - especially the saber rattling with North Korea. A president's job is to keep us out of war. This fool is out of control and I'm scared.

(479 posts)they should have been doing all along, calling out his lies and ignorance.
Here is what I believe is really important: 45 took a solemn oath as President to uphold and defend the Constitution ...
By threatening the press/media he is violating that oath in the second most dangerous way to the nation, the first being refusing to defend the nation against foreign enemies (we are not quite there yet.)
But we are definitely at the point of his abuse of power on the 1st Amendment. No one is taking this as seriously as they should be in my opinion. The ACLU or some other legal group should take this up. Believe me, if Obama had done or threaten the press as 45 continues to do, Judicial Watch would be all over him with law suits and pushing for impeachment.

It is also a coping mechanism. We laugh so that we don't cry.

A Trump presidency is a severe threat--heck, a series of severe threats to us--but we can keep him feeling marginalized/humiliated until he quits.

(14,848 posts)The USA has many propagandists and far too many dummies who happily eat the swill.
It's not hard. Instead of challenging people like Democrats tend to do, tell them what they WANT to hear.
1. Christians are the best.
2. White people are the best.
3. The USA is the best.
4. Media outlets that question any of the above are wrong.
