If you knocked on doors or made phone calls for this election, check in
I knocked a few doors, but I spent most of my time running canvasses and phone banks this cycle (as for most cycles now).

3. Reporting. Westchester County (NY) Democrats kicked GOP butt

http://www.lohud.com/story/news/politics/elections/2017/11/08/westchester-election-2017-takeaways/842196001/ In my area of New Rochelle, NY (the north end), Democrats swept the whole fucking slate. County executive: George Latimer County Legislator: Damon Maher County clerk: Tim Idoni Family court judge: Arlene Gordon-Oliver County court judge: George E Fifidio Jr State Supreme Court Justice: Christi Acker Before this election, Westchester County Democrats had a slim lead in the County Legislature, 9 seats to 8 for the GOP. Last night, we flipped at least 3 of those seats, so the tally is now 12 Democrats to 5 Republicans. George Latimer won his race by 13 percentage points. Rob Astorino conceded just before midnight. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I volunteered my time with the Latimer and Maher campaigns, who ran an incredible ground game At last count, Maher had personally knocked on over 8,876 doors in his district in his victorious bid to unseat a GOP rubber stamp for Rob Astorino, Sheila Marcotte, an 8-year incumbent. Maher, BTW, was the gentleman in New Rochelle's Democratic Committee who showed me the ropes and encouraged me to stick around and become an election district leader. As such, back in June/July, I did ballot petitioning in my area to get both Latimer and Maher on the ballots. Later, after the September primary, I went canvassing the neighborhoods for Latimer and Maher, one of those times alongside Maher himself. I also wrote post cards on behalf of Latimer. Indivisible Westchester, Indivisible NY CD-16 (and their local sub-groups), NY Progressive Action Network, Lower Hudson Valley PAN, etc. provided people power and loads of shoe leather in turning out the voters. In short: WE BUSTED OURS. . .TO KICK THEIRS. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

4. I am so happy for my home county
Girl from NY-17 checking in.
My mom sent me a text this morning with a lot of smiley face emojis about Astorino being toast. |
