Re Senator Franken - It's the Minnesota Voters Who Chose Him - Let Them Decide

Senate Democrats need to be careful they don't look like they're thumbing their noses at the voters of Minnesota and want to pick their own. If and until we learn of any more egregious incidents, Senate Dems (and their donors) need to give due process, and the ethics investigation a chance to work, and do what we tell women every day -- get over it! This has become a sideshow that detracts from the very serious business at hand that needs every bit of our attention.

Because that's what will happen if Franken doesn't step down AND survives the Senate ethics committee.

That's why we vote after all. To chose a person we want to represent us.

Collecting Koch Cash right this very minute.

The Dems will be impaled by this zero-tolerance stance. A Dem governor in Minnesota will not save this horrid strategy.

We just lost Minn in 2018 due to a miscalculation of the political odds in favor of some sort of purity of party message.

Al should not be ousted on such behavior (yes, piggish) but not molestation etc. IMO

Is there something else - DOCUMENTED to change my mind?? Did he behave badly in exchange for a career promotion or other gratification? Not yet as far as I can ascertain.

Not a Minnesotan here, so cant really judge other than Coleman came so very close to the much better Franken before.

The state may be more purple than solid blue.

If that is so, then lots and lots of money can make a difference we don't like.

Republican voters have actually sat down, reached some personal verdict on the charges, and quite a few of them have then said, "I don't care if he's guilty, I'm voting for him anyway." No Democrat voter has done that with Franken. As far as I'm concerned, that's a failure of the Republican party.
