Clinton Foundation to end foreign donations if Hillary elected
Source: USA TODAY
The Clinton Foundation says that if Hillary Clinton is elected president, it will no longer accept foreign and corporate donations, the Associated Press reported.
Scrutiny of the Democratic presidential nominee's relationship with her familys charity is intensifying as Republicans charge that she gave its donors preferential treatment and access as secretary of State.
Bill Clinton told staff members on Thursday that it will also hold its final Clinton Global Initiative meeting in September in New York, the AP reported, citing meeting participants who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The decision also comes as Reuters reported that the foundation hired a cybersecurity firm to examine its data systems after detecting possible indications theyd been hacked.

The ban, which prohibited donations not approved by State Department ethics officials, took effect in 2009 after Hillary Clinton became secretary of State.
