Lieberman emerges as front-runner for FBI post

Source: Politico

Joe Lieberman, the former Democratic vice-presidential nominee, is the front-runner to be named FBI director, according to several White House officials and advisers.

Senior administration officials have told others in the last 12 hours that Trump is expected to pick Lieberman to replace FBI director James Comey, who was abruptly fired by Trump last week.

A person familiar with Wednesday’s meeting said Trump bonded with Lieberman, and the president left leaning towards the former Connecticut senator, who retired in 2013. Trump has not signaled otherwise that anyone else is the favorite, aides said, and has told one adviser he wants to make an announcement before he leaves Friday on his first foreign trip.

A White House spokesman declined to comment.

Having left the Senate in 2013, Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-Independent, is now senior counsel at the firm Kasowitz, Benson, Torres and Friedman, which has offices in nine cities.

The firm has represented Trump in matters for years. Last October, Marc Kasowitz, a partner at the firm, threatened The New York Times with legal action after the newspaper published pages from Trump’s 1995 income tax return. Later that month, Kasowitz wrote a letter to Times demanding the retraction of an article about two women who claimed Trump had “touched them inappropriately.” The Times did not retract the article.

I'm older than all of them, but believe most of them, including 45, are past their prime.

Just how many clowns can you get in a clown car anyway?

The Dave Clarke thing is of far more concern that Joe L., he has a pretty big clown nose, and from the looks of his asshat, he is a rodeo clown...

He will surely have his turn in the barrel!

That particular rodeo clown was pals with and in Russia!

I am surprised that he doesn't have the Red Sickle and Hammer ( Серп и молот ) on his toy soldier uniform coat!

But honestly, although I'm no Lieberman fan, I didn't think he'd stoop THAT low. And bonding with Dump is as low as it gets.

Dump wants a sycophant as FBI director, and apparently Lieberman is one.

Trump has bullied and run roughshod so often that he simply does not know how to be conciliatory. What planet is he on if he thinks the Democrats would be happy with Lieberman?
