NRA appears to be 'dialing down' high-profile appearance at CPAC

Source: The Guardian

The National Rifle Association (NRA) appears to be trying to “dial down” a high-profile appearance by its leader Wayne LaPierre near Washington this week.

LaPierre’s name is nowhere to be found on the official agenda for CPAC, the conservative conference which begins in Maryland on Wednesday. An NRA spokesman said that the firebrand executive vice-president and CEO had not cancelled his speech, but that he did not know when he would be speaking.

Donald Trump, Mike Pence and other key conservative figures are expected to speak at the conference.

For days, grieving high school students from Parkland, Florida, have spoken out publicly following the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school on 14 February, accusing politicians for having “blood on their hands” for voting with the NRA and opposing gun control.

Students can get in for $85 (I wonder if it comes with a free gun and ammo).

That's a nice little cash cow, isn't it? Rotten bastards. It's all about money, guns and power, in that order.

Indivisible protested in San Diego at the Hotel Del Coronado last May when the RNC Spring Meeting was held at the hotel. We spelled out 2018 in the sand. Indivisible hates Issa and Hunter and have been working hard for over a year staking out their local offices every week.

who had to witness this massacre, to finally make the NRA dial down. Usually, they get right up in your face after one of these incidents. I have a feeling these kids might be able to accomplish more than any of us adults. These youths are impressive and I wish them peace in their lives and fire in their cause.

Who are digging into the fact that the NRA was a major conduit for Russian money in the 2016 election cycle.

IMO the reason the NRA has been so quiet lately.

Their leaders are too busy trying to figure out how to stay out of prison.

Events are more often than we like to think driven by a whole series of events rather than one big change agent.
