Papa John's founder sues pizza chain
Source: Reuters
NEW YORK (Reuters) - John Schnatter, the founder and ousted former chairman of Papa John’s International Inc (PZZA.O), on Thursday sued the pizzeria chain, complaining that the company had not provided adequate response to an earlier request for internal documents. The complaint, Schnatter v. Papa Johns International Inc filed in Delaware Chancery Court, comes after a request by Schnatter and his attorneys access to company documents to inspect accusations of inappropriate behavior. “Mr. Schnatter’s attorneys are seeking to inspect Company documents because of the unexplained and heavy-handed way in which the Company has treated him since the publication of a story that falsely accused him of using a racial slur,” Schnatter’s attorneys said in a statement. 4. This is a suit for access to corporate records
These lawsuits are common and are not dealing with the merits of his termination

5. If Schnatter thinks that because the place is named after him gives him any sort of rights....
....then I would love to have introduced him to the McDonald brothers.

16. Because he built the company and hasn't come to terms that it isn't his.
For almost the first decade of its existence, Papa John's was privately owned by Schnatter. When he took the company public in 1993, he probably never envisioned that he would eventually be kicked out of his own company.
Schnatter isn't the first company founder to encounter shareholder revolt due to bad behavior or poor management, and he won't be the last. |

11. His pizza was OK when I would still eat it, but I refuse to buy pizza from this jackass over the ...
way he treats his employees regarding wages, health care and if that weren't enough while I hope the NFL and Papa John/Schnatter all decay in common heap of ash as soon as is possible over the mere concept they have the right define patriotism and its display from any other human being. I hope they choke on their knees.
Fuck the NFL and Schnatter. |

15. Dear Papa, Go jump in UR moat!
I'm glad this self important 1%'er is getting bung'd after his many years of
despicable shite! Treating his workers like dirt, threatening lay-offs and pay cuts simply because he may need to pay some benefits!?! Didn't mind paying for his NFL association, or all those free football pizzas, but heaven forbid, his employees get an extra red cent! He lives in a mansion, with a moat, and his own personal golf course, but OMG! Some grunt may get something! The Humanities! Maybe there is Karma! |
