France tells Trump to stop interfering in its politics

Source: AFP via France24

Paris (AFP)

The French government on Sunday urged Donald Trump not to interfere in French politics after the US president posted tweets about the protests rocking the country and attacked the Paris climate agreement.

"We do not take domestic American politics into account and we want that to be reciprocated," Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told LCI television.

"I say this to Donald Trump and the French president says it too: leave our nation be."

Trump had on Saturday posted two tweets referring to the "yellow vest" anti-government protests that have swept France since mid-November and sparked rioting in Paris.

It just says they're investigating and won't comment until the investigation is over.

trump has more to fear from even a word-attack because he has more to offer to critics, so I say that if the man-child continues with his tantrums then the French should fire back and shame him.

If you think criticizing another leader is meddling in domestic politics when you're criticized, it's still meddling in domestic politics when you criticize the other leader. "It's wrong to meddle in another country's internal affairs. Unless I do it."

That wasn't the first time then-candidate Macron criticized him. President Macron has continued the practice.

He just doesn't like it when the gore is applied to his ox.

The exchange has been going on for a while in slo-mo.

...Macron has never sided with another group in the United States. He may have given an opinion on issues, but he has not said Trump was wrong to side with the KKK or domestic groups that act like Neanderthals.

He never said that our obscene gun laws lead to slaughter or that our hateful immigration laws are an insult to all of civilization.

Macron has criticized America's position on climate change, but that affects his own country.

I wish more international figures took Trump on, just as more should have taken on the dictators in the 1930's.

and, just like an educated citizen of Nazi Germany, I welcome the criticism of out leader from wherever it comes.

USofA. Wherein the hell did we ever get the idea of American exceptionalism? It’s so bogus that Individual 1 is our latest example.

Individual1 meets the standard of absolute exceptionalism when it comes to me first (and always every way). Pretty easy to capitalize on that.

I'm afraid that, by purposefully dividing our once-united states, the 1% has effectively created an environment where if the "liberals" were to actually take to the streets, in a 1960's sort of way, that the armed right wing would love nothing more than to shoot down those efforts. Literally.

They're not read just by the hillrods down at the Hoot 'n Holler they're aimed at, they're official US policy. Trump could initiate a war, both economic and shooting, with an errant message.

Our president has the mentality of a disruptive tween.
