Mnuchin says courts need to settle fight over Trump's taxes
Source: Associated Press
By ANDREW TAYLOR an hour ago WASHINGTON (AP) — Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday that it’s up to the courts to referee his dispute with House Democrats demanding access to President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Mnuchin told a Senate panel that the fight between the administration and the House Ways and Means Committee chairman, Rep. Richard Neal, “will go to the third branch of government to be resolved.” Neal, D-Mass., has subpoenaed six years’ worth of Trump’s returns with an eye to examining whether Trump is paying all the taxes he owes and whether his web of businesses has created conflicts of interest with his official actions as president. Neal has set a Friday deadline for the IRS to deliver them. But Mnuchin said that the Treasury Department was unlikely to comply. “We haven’t made a decision but I think you can guess which way we’re leaning on our subpoena,” Mnuchin said, adding, “I take great comfort that there is a third branch of government to deal with this important issue.” Read more: https://apnews.com/9774a03af723437dbeeb203d55b5d777 Hey asshole.................ever fucking hear of Tea Pot Dome corruption, do you not know what LAW was passed to stop the corruption from not paying taxes and bribery and such in that corrupt crime by a "republican " administration in 1920's......................that was trying to curry favors from oil companies..........................here let me remind you asshole........................and while you are it, you and the IRS commissioner should look up the word "shall".......................and see how it it used in practice legislation and law....................you and him really belong in jail for obstruction..............................just like what happened in the 1920's......................... https://truthout.org/articles/what-the-teapot-dome-scandal-has-to-do-with-trumps-tax-returns/ November 3, 2020 cannot get here fast enough..........................

4. Its going to be funny
When the lower courts defer to Congress and the SCOTUS doesn't take this up. Because courts are very likely to rule that if there was supposed to be a limit to what Congress can request(define legislative purpose), then Congress should have said so in the law. This is actually a very simple legal concept that doesn't require much court scrutiny.
The SCOTUS, unlikely to even hear this, is not going to rule that some other law or part of the Constitution makes the law that allows Congress to request tax returns is "unconstitutional". And they are not going to rule that if Congress is controlled by a party different than that of the POTUS, then they can't request his taxes. No possibility. |

would be hauled before the court for a thorough dressing-down.........

9. Delay is a Win
Courts recognize delay tactics. He will be penalized in some creative way for being a prick, because "being a prick" isn't and official legal problem.
I can't wait to see some judge show these pricks who is the smarter and more clever of the two. |
