Treasury Department sent information on Hunter Biden to expanding GOP Senate inquiry

Source: Yahoo news

Yahoo News•February 6, 2020

.........................

For months, while the impeachment controversy raged, powerful committee chairmen in the Republican-controlled Senate have been quietly but openly pursuing an inquiry into Hunter Biden’s business affairs and Ukrainian officials’ alleged interventions in the 2016 election, the same matters that President Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani unsuccessfully tried to coerce Ukraine’s government to investigate.

Unlike Trump and Giuliani, however, Sens. Charles Grassley, chairman of the Finance Committee; Ron Johnson, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; and Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, have focused their efforts in Washington, seeking to extract politically useful information from agencies of the U.S. government. They’ve issued letters requesting records from Cabinet departments and agencies, including the State Department, the Treasury, the Justice Department, the FBI, the National Archives and the Secret Service.

Grassley and Johnson have sought to obtain some of the most sensitive and closely held documents in all of federal law enforcement — highly confidential suspicious activity reports (SARs) filed by financial institutions with FinCEN, an agency of the Treasury that helps to police money laundering.

The senators’ requests to the Treasury have borne fruit, according to the ranking Democratic senator on the Finance Committee, Ron Wyden of Oregon, who contrasted the cooperation given to the Republican senators with the pervasive White House-directed stonewall that House Democrats encountered when they subpoenaed documents and witnesses in the impeachment inquiry.

“Applying a blatant double standard, Trump administration agencies like the Treasury Department are rapidly complying with Senate Republican requests — no subpoenas necessary — and producing ‘evidence’ of questionable origin,” Wyden spokesperson Ashley Schapitl said in a statement. “The administration told House Democrats to go pound sand when their oversight authority was mandatory while voluntarily cooperating with the Senate Republicans’ sideshow at lightning speed.”...........................................

In other words, Grassley and Johnson and Republicans are doing what Rudy and Trump and Pompeo, et all. failed to do.

And shithole and their fellow comrades will lose in November.

Going after VP Biden's son is awful and it open the doors to other sons and daughters as targets.

They have no shame.

Anyone who didn't think the entire Trump administration would muster all forces and go after Biden after the trial, should have........

The Wrath of Hell is about to rain down on Biden and Son, all the way thru the election.
He is the only threat to them winning the election.

Same for a list of hundreds that crossed the Trump Admin and Republican Party this last year leading up to the impeachment and during the trial. Trump and Repubs are extremely hateful and vengeful and will descend on them too. Just watch. It ain't gonna be pretty, but ruthless and ugly from now on. They already started yesterday waging war on some of them, and they are just warming up. In addition to beginning to roll out the trashing of America full force......Katie Bar The Door.

They are doing the same thing. The purpose of the investigation is to smear Biden. The investigation isn’t supposed to find anything, it’s supposed to generate headlines.

Basically they are using the senate to do a bogus investigation rather than Ukraine.

From that point of view the email and Benghazi investigations were successes even though they found nothing.

Republicans weaponized investigations starting in 1992 with Ken Starr. In a perverse way, it makes the vote to acquit make more sense. Not less forgiveable, just easier to understand.

Why is asking a foreign power to do an investigation of a political opponent so bad? It’s what the republicans in congress have done since 1992.

Ugh. I hate this bs.

They know quite well that Hunter Biden has been investigated and found to have done nothing wrong. This is simply a fishing expedition into sensitive documents to see what they can turn up. Without evidence of a crime, they have no right to these documents. We have truly become a banana republic when one side is allowed to access confidential documents to create political dirt on opponents.

All of these guys are older than dirt. You'd think they'd want to use their last years on this planet trying to leave a positive mark. But no. They are filthy, lying, greedy, crooked traitors who wouldn't know right from wrong, even if one or the other bit them on their dried up saggy old asses. They are spending our tax dollars chasing something that doesn't exist. What, if they don't, is trump going to give them a diaper wedgie?

But they had no trouble going after Hunter Biden.
I guess a fake investigation is only a fake investigation if Democrats do it.
If you're Republican, anything goes.

Their fear of Trump's base is all encompassing, every bit as much as their lack of honor and integrity.
They are morally bankrupt.
